I linked to I, Faker

I linked to I, Faker yesterday, but just now finished reading it. Make sure you read until you get to the torture manual rewritten as a business how-to article entitled Don't Get Caught Being a Weak Manager. It was published in The Business Journal of Syracuse, NY in 1997. Here's a sample:

While there is no drug that can force every employee to divulge all the information he has, in a state of heightened suggestibility and in a duly-outfitted magic room, a harmless sugar pill can have extraordinary effects. The manager can tell an employee that the placebo is a truth serum that will make him want to talk and prevent all his lying. Things grow complicated here and can fast become overheated, psychologically speaking, but the end result is that an employee will indeed talk, as it's clearly his only avenue of escape from a depressing situation. He will want to believe that he has been drugged because then nobody can blame him for telling his entire story. A mere sugar pill provides him with the rationalization he needs to cooperate. The manager will keep a number of these sugar pills handy.
