Comprehensive Replacements press compilation

In my inbox from Jon: "This 10MB PDF is purportedly every single published article about and picture of the Replacements. Ever. About 300 pages worth. Something no computer should be without, I'm sure you'll agree." Yep, I do.

Ironic Enron quote II

Yet another ironically amusing quote on an Enron promotional piece: "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." [See previous quote.]

Escape from Salt Lake

The Denver Post pulled this article from their website after an outcry from Utah residents (Utahans?):

The theme of the Salt Lake Games is: "Light the flame within." It should be: "Last one to escape Salt Lake extinguish the flame and turn out the lights."

Pixelpony archives imported

Imported all of my posts from Blogger into Radio Userland, going back to April 22, 2000. Over the next few months, I will continue to convert pixelpony.com into more of a resume/portfolio and programming/design playground, and use odegards.com/derek for more personal, non-programming, non-experimental stuff.

Posting this message via email

Posting this message via email. Radio Userland should post it to my odegards.com/derek blog. I am curious to see if: 1) it assigns any categories, 2) it automatically publishes the new entry to the live site, and 3) it preserves the exact string sent in the message.

UPDATE: 1) no; 2) yes; 3) yes. Exactly as I would have expected. It would be nice to have a mechanism for assigning categories in the message body somehow.

Windows Product Activation cracked

Windows Product Activation cracked: "Two different programs, that can activate Windows XP without Microsofts blessing are circulating. The Patch made by the group Sad Team consists of a 700 KByte EXE-file that contains an Installer. To activate both Home and Professional versions of Windows XP, the Patch must be run in 'Safe Mode.' After rebooting, windows is completely activated." More info from The Register.
